DESCRIPTION

Whether you want to make a sign for an upcoming protest or you want to discuss the role of art in resistance and change, make your message LOUD & CLEAR! In the first part of the workshop, KT Pe Benito will present basic graphic design principles along with examples of agitprop and political art. We’ll then collaboratively discuss what we want to uplift through visual art and then create draft designs and signs using cardboard, markers, paints, and more.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

KT Pe Benito (they/them/siya) is an arts & cultural worker, hybrid-virtual events producer, and national democratic organizer navigating access and dismantling dominator culture. Strengthening their relationship to queer Filipinx lineage across borders and time zones is a practice of resistance and they utilize education to organize toward genuine Philippine liberation & sovereignty.

Penn Treaty Park is wheelchair-accessible. The nearest restrooms are a 5-minute walk away. Water and snacks will be provided. ASL interpretation, on-site childcare, and Spanish translation upon request
( you can specify your requests in the Eventbrite). This event will be entirely outdoors.
